Rail opened for Brazil's busiest airport

A new 12km rail line linking Sao Paulo to Guarulhos International Airport has begun operating

Sao Paulo's state government has inaugurated the first direct rail line to Brazil's busiest airport.

The new 12km line links downtown Sao Paulo to Guarulhos International Airport has begun operating after a four-year delay.

It was originally intended to start running in time for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The Sao Paulo rapid transit company estimates that 120,000 passengers will use the new line every day.
