The real reason why the Queen is refusing surgery

She may be suffering in the health department but Queen Elizabeth is reportedly refusing surgery over work commitments.

According to a royal insider, the Queen is experiencing significant pain in her knees, especially when he goes to get up after sitting down.

However, the 92-year-old Monarch is apparently reluctant to go under the knife because she won’t be able to attend royal engagements if she needs to recover from surgery.

“She was talking to friends at the Chelsea Flower Show and said her knees were playing up,” the insider told The Sun.

“But she is reluctant to have an op due to the time it would take to recover.

The source said the Queen is being ‘incredibly brave’ but she doesn’t want to ’cause any fuss’.

“People from her and Philip’s generation battle through problems and carry on,” the insider said.

The news comes just three days after Her Majesty was forced to pull out of an engagement at St Paul’s Cathedral because she was ‘feeling under the weather’.

“The Queen is feeling under the weather today and has decided not to attend this morning’s service at St Paul’s Cathedral marking the 200th anniversary of the Order of Michael and St George,” a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said.

“Her Majesty will be represented by the Duke of Kent as the grand master of the order.”

The Queen had been through a busy few weeks of royal engagements, which included numerous appearances at Ascot, an outing with Meghan Markle in Chester and an award show at Buckingham Palace.

She is also still recovering from surgery in May, where she had a cataract removed from her eye.

The Queen has since been seen wearing dark sunglasses when out in public and at royal engagements.
