Richard Marx sparks hilarious Twitter thread trolling Trump
Singer Richard Marx has taken a hilarious swipe at Donald Trump after his Helsinki backflip – and Twitter is living for it.
The US President was widely criticised after he claimed he had misspoken at a press conference after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the summit in Finland.
Trump had originally been quoted as saying he didn’t see any reason “why it would be Russia” that meddled in the 2016 US election.
At a press conference on Tuesday he tried to correct himself, claiming he said the word ‘would’ instead of ‘wouldn’t’.
The ‘blunder’ caused a huge reaction on social media, but Richard Marx’s comment is definitely one of the best.
I misspoke. I meant to say I “wouldn’t” be right here waiting for you.

Twitter was absolutely living for his revised lyric from his hit ‘Right here waiting’, with his tweet receiving almost 175,000 likes and 3,800 comments.
It also sparked a host of hilarious responses, following the trend.
“So I guess Journey wanted us to stop believing,” was another amusing response.
It was quickly dubbed the ‘best tweet and thread ever’.
