Rose McGowan breaks down after heckler abuse

Charmed actress Rose McGowan has had an emotional breakdown after being heckled at the launch for her new book Brave.

In an episode of Rose’ TV show Citizen Rose, she returns from Berlin to start press for her deeply personal memoir.

At a reading in New York, the 44-year-old was confronted by a heckler.

“Trans women are dying! And you said that we, as trans women, are not like regular women!” the heckler yelled. “This is white cis feminism!”

Rose, obviously and visibly shaken, shot back at the heckler.

“I do not subscribe to your rules. I do not subscribe to your language. You do not put labels on me or anybody. Step the f–k back!”

Concerns for her welfare grew as this was not the first time she has had a public breakdown.

Back in October, Rose cancelled an appearance due to sharing her experiences with disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein but fears are growing for Rose McGowan after the actress pulled out of an appearance due to “compounding factors” surrounding the scandal.

The 44-year-old actress was set to attend the Tallgrass Film Festival in the US to accept an Ad Astra Award, however the event’s organisers confirmed the actress would not be attending.

“We are sorry to announce that we’ve just been informed that Rose McGowan has cancelled all upcoming public appearances due to compounding factors surrounding recent revelations in the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment case,” a statement released by the festival read.

“While we’re disappointed that Rose cannot be here with us in person, we understand that her well being is the priority. We support her and our thoughts are with her. We’ll seize this opportunity to amplify her message and celebrate all the women filmmakers with works here at the 15th annual festival.”

Rose was set to be honoured for her 2014 short film Dawn, which was the star’s directorial debut.
