Royal watchers want Meghan Markle to stop breaking this one rule

She may have been thrust into the royal spotlight since marrying Prince Harry but royal watchers are already calling for Meghan Markle to stop breaking this one particular rule.

The 36-year-old Duchess of Sussex, who married Prince Harry in May in a lavish Windsor Castle ceremony, has been seen out-and-about on countless engagements in the last two months, and she’s nearly always spotted holding her new husband’s hand.

While many of us royal fans might just see this as an act of love from a pair of newlyweds who are very clearly besotted with each other, others think it’s Meghan’s way of seeking reassurance from her husband.

“Meghan is someone who has craved fame and the limelight, but this degree of fame and the aggression that comes with it can be very daunting,” psychotherapist and relationship expert Dr. Robi Ludwig told Best Life.

“She has a big task to fit into the royal family seamlessly.

“Harry is her touchstone of comfort. It almost looks like she’s hanging on for dear life.”

Speaking to the Daily Star, body language expert Robin Kermode noted that there’s a reason why Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, are rarely seen holding hands in public.

“It is very clear that William and Kate are emotionally close, however, they do not seem to feel the need to prove their love – particularly when on official state business,” he said.

However, it seems word may have gotten back to the royal couple about the criticism their hand holding has been receiving, as they’ve been doing less of it at recent events.

According to royal expert William Hanson, the reason they’ve stopped holding hands has nothing to do with their relationship but more to do with their new roles as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“Prince Harry has probably felt less of a need to hold Meghan’s hand as she seems to be much more confident and secure in her new role, and so needs less emotional and physical support from her now-husband,” William Hanson told the Daily Mail.

“Public displays of affection, such a hand holding, may be accepted in private situations and in social spheres, but when out in public Harry and Meghan are on official business and so it is not considered professional behaviour.”
