Shoppers mock Coles' 'Down, down' slogan amid nationwide shutdown

Supermarket chain Coles is known for its catchy slogan (watch above) in its advertising material: “Down, down, prices are down”.

This morning Coles supermarket stores were closed amid a nationwide computer outage, and shoppers reacted to the debacle using the company’s marketing line. 

Down down coles is all down (sic),” one person wrote on Twitter.

Many other shoppers followed suit with variations of the phrase, including “Systems are DOWN DOWN DOWN at Coles!!!” and “Ha ha @Coles are DOWN! DOWN!”

Coles supermarket stores were closed this morning amid a nationwide computer outage, reports Yahoo7 News. 

Multiple reports from all over Australia on Sunday morning show signs plastered on supermarket doors notifying customers they would not open until until further notice.

Coles confirmed not all of its supermarkets were closed, but said the outage was a national issue.
