Single mum's heartbreaking quest for love
A single mum who lost her husband in a tragic motorbike accident nine years ago is one of four women who are appearing on Channel Seven’s new dating show, The Single Wives.
Nikki, 32, was pregnant at the time she lost her hubby, and heartbreakingly gave birth to their son just days after he passed away.
The mum-of-one can be seen getting teary in the first trailer and admits it’s finally “time to find somebody that’s for me”.
Nikki however appears positive the show — which is hosted by FiFi Box and has the world’s best dating expert, Matthew Hussey, guiding them — and is confident she’s ready to move on and find love again.
“I was constantly fearing, because I had been through traumatic loss,” she told Who earlier this week. “But I can’t protect myself and my child by holding back and locking myself away.”
She’s not alone in the trailer, with the short promo video also giving us a glimpse at the other ladies looking for love again with the help of a professional.
Emma is a 28-year-old divorcee who hasn’t dated since her marriage broke down three years ago.
While twice divorced Sheridan appears to have a long list of requirements of her future dream man.
The 41-year-old lives just down the road from her ex but hints something major went on between them, telling Matthew “I found things that no one should ever find about their husband”.
Completing the foursome is Sunny, who married young before sadly splitting.
After tying the knot at just 20-years-old, she says “cultural issues” were the reason her marriage didn’t last.
However the 30-year-old is ready to start afresh and hopefully meet someone to start a family with.
