Smiling Meghan Markle spends 37th birthday at wedding for Harry's friend
The Duchess of Sussex was all smiles as spent her 37th birthday as a guest at the wedding of Prince Harry’s friend Charlie van Straubenzee.
Prince Harry was there to perform duties as a groomsman, returning the favour after Charlie was by his side for his wedding to Meghan Markle in May.
Harry and Charlie have known each other since they went to the same prep school, Ludgrove, and have remained friends every since.
But while Harry and Meghan were separated for some of the event, the newlyweds were all smiles as they walked hand in hand. A show of public affection, which is something many royals avoid.
Kate Middleton and Prince William, for example, have rarely been seen holding hands in public.
The wedding of Charlie van Straubenzee and Daisy Jenks was held in the village if Churt in Surrey.
Meghan looked flawless in a $700 short-sleeve button-down navy Club Monaco dress, which had a pleated skirt. She accessorised with black pumps by Aquazzura, a favourite of hers, and a belt and clutch by Kayu Design.
She also wore an elegant black fascinator by Phillip Treacy, according to People, wearing her hair out in loose curls.
Meghan and Harry looks completely relaxed, especially given the family drama Meghan has had to deal with over the past few weeks.
Both her father, Thomas Markle Snr, and half-sister Samantha have been very vocal about not having any contact with Meghan since the wedding.
The royal family has remained relatively silent, despite Thomas doing various interviews calling them out for cutting off contact between him and his daughter.
But the Duchess hasn’t appeared to let it phase her, as she attended the wedding, alongside fellow royals, Princess Eugenie and fiancé Jack Brooksbank.
Meghan’s birthday celebrations this year were extremely different to last year, where she had a quiet getaway, relaxing with Prince Harry on a romantic trip in Botswana.
