We tried: Weird new oral care products

Instagram is bombarded with ‘influencers’ promoting various teeth whitening and dental care trends. But do these products actually work? We put them to the test to find out.

First we cracked open Lush’s Mouthwash Tabs which were a little, er underwhelming. We spat it out after a second of popping the greenish pills. It was way too bitter for my liking. No spearmint taste or refreshing tingle. How is this meant to freshen my breath?

Next was the Carbon Coco Activated Charcoal Toothpaste.

So, if you go for the deluxe pack, this stuff goes for $89 big ones. The flavour was fine but it looked like a biro pen had exploded in and around my chops.

I also tried the Charcoal Tooth Polish but it was more like tar than toothpaste.

Were my teeth whiter afterwards? Not really. That said, the company recommends using it every day for a fortnight. For my money, though, it’s way too messy #CRIMESCENE

One good thing about both of these products is, they don’t test on animals.
