One man from Portsmouth, England, knows that feeling too well – so imagine his outrage when he was told by his manager to ‘tone it down’.

Sharing his post on the Facebook page 'Spotted Portsmouth', the man explained how he had been at his job for about eight months with no problems – until new management took offence to his use of cosmetics.

“I've never been reprimanded on my make-up before. Actually quite the opposite... some managers have supported me and complimented my make-up,” the man wrote in his post.

“However recently we've had to go under new management. Earlier on in the week I came to work as my fabulous self and was told to take off my make-up.”

The man goes on to add that a number of his female colleagues come into work wearing more make-up than him, however he was the one who was targeted.

“I was quite shocked... After I refused, I'm getting told to tone it down? Excuse me? Tone it down? You can't tone down a masterpiece.”

Standing up for his perfectly contoured rights, the man also shared a photo of his flawless face, admitting he took it after he was told to take his make-up off.

“Obviously I'm not going to take off my make-up when all my other (female) colleagues are able to come to work as their fabulous selves,” he wrote.
