Kind hairdresser spends 13 hours combing teen's hair

Kayley Olsson recently refused to shave a client's head when they requested it after coming into her salon for the first time.

But the hairdresser from Waterloo, Iowa, wasn't being rude. She wanted to help.

Instead of getting the clippers out, Kayley spent the next 13 hours painstakingly combing out the customer's horribly tangled hair.

The teenaged girl in the chair had suffered such severe depression for so long that her hair had virtually formed one large knot.

"She got to the point where she felt so down and so worthless she couldn't even brush her hair, she told me she only got up to use the restroom," Kayley wrote to her Facebook followers.

"She starts back at school in a few weeks but she has her school pictures today. When she walked in she told us 'just cut it all off I can't deal with the pain of combing it out', she called herself worthless for it.

"It honestly broke my heart and we tried everything we could to keep this child's hair for her!"

After combing the tangles out, Kayley cut, coloured and blow-dried the girl's newly sleek tresses.

"At the end of the day I want this to be a lesson to people," she wrote.
