Vampire boob jobs are a thing
Remember the creepy vampire facial, made famous by Kim Kardashian and her bloody-faced Instagram selfie? Well now there’s another vamp-inspired beauty procedure on the block – the vampire boob job.
Practitioners carrying out the vampire facial, which involves injecting your own blood into the skin, claim the same treatment can be used to give your cleavage a boost.
As reported by the Daily Mail, the procedure is currently offered at only a handful of clinics in the UK, and involves extracting blood and separating out the platelet rich plasma which is then injected into the breasts.
There, it stimulates the body’s natural wound-healing process, which promotes collagen production, rejuvenating fatty tissue that has been lost through breastfeeding, weight loss and ageing.
The £1,200 procedure, which can increase the size of your boobs by as much as a cup size, takes just under an hour and unlike surgical breast enhancement, there is no recovery time.
Though relatively new in the UK, in Australia News.com.au reports that the popularity of “vampire breast lifts” has doubled in the past year.
Emily Edwards, 25, from Stoke, Staffordshire, put the procedure to the test for Femail after feeling unhappy with the way her breasts looked after two children and losing over three stone in weight.
“When I found the Vampire Breast Lift, it sounded perfect,” she told Femail. “The spooky-sounding name comes from the fact that it works by removing some of your blood and then injecting it back into your breasts.”
“It promised to make them look plumper and reduce the appearance of stretch-marks for up to two years.”
Emily went along to Elite Aesthetics in Greenhithe, Kent, to have the procedure and told the publication that she was really pleased with the results.
“When I looked down at my boobs I couldn’t believe it, they were so much fuller and pert than before,” she said.
“As I put my bra back on, I didn’t need to tighten the straps like I usually do to create a cleavage, because I already had one.
The stretch-marks were much less noticeable too. I couldn’t believe what a difference it had made.”
Think we might just stick to a push-up bra.
