Four-year-old girl cutting her own fringe will make you cringe

Children attempting to style their own hair can be scary. Children trying to cut their own fringe is even scarier.

Four-year-old Oa Angel gave her fringe a trim in an Instagram video, and it has everyone going bonkers.

Six days ago, a video was posted to Instagram of Oa holding her fringe in one hand and as scary as it sounds, she goes in to cut her hair just below an elastic tied near the ends.

The video has since gone viral and garnered over 846,000 views. As careful as Oa appears to be, the visual of a young child holding scissors so closely to her face has many people on the edge of their seats.

“OMG this is so irresponsible of the parents,” one concerned person commented.

Others shared similar sentiments such as “bad parenting” and “scissors are not for kids.”

In response to all the speculation surrounding Oa cutting her own hair with scissors, her mother, Yuko Paris, tells Yahoo Lifestyle: “I allowed it because I felt that she could do it without hurting herself.

"In addition, I pretty much let her do anything she wants to do if that does not cause her heavy injury or death, of course, because I believe children can learn all the time from experiencing a lot of things.”

Yuko reveals that she usually cuts her daughter’s hair, but this time around, Oa wanted to do the job herself.

“I was scared at first but, of course, I was right in front of her and she knew what she was doing so it was fine,” she says.

“She did just the first part and I did the rest.”

Oa’s bang-cutting video actually wasn’t her first time using scissors. Her mother says she uses them every day for her paper-craft projects and understands just how dangerous it can be using scissors.

Oa isn’t the only child who’s attempted to groom and style her own hair.

Back in 2013, 13-year-old Tori Locklear shocked the world back in 2013 when she shared a beauty tutorial that took a turn for the worse when she fried her hair off with a curling iron.

We also can’t forget about a little girl named Ryleigh, who attempted to create a video on how she styles her natural hair.

Long story short, she struggled with getting it right and this left her asking, “How do I get this all into the ponytail that Mommy does?”
