Hemsworth then posted a picture of his nail to Instagram, alongside the caption: "I just signed up to the @YGAP @polishedman campaign! One in five children fall victim to physical and/or sexual violence, before they turn 18.

"That’s one too many. For the month of October, I’ll be painting one nail to represent this statistic and raise awareness and funds to end violence against children. Sign up today at www.polishedman.com and donate !#polishedman"

The “Polished Man” campaign runs throughout October and you can participate and/or donate online to the cause.

Last year, Hemsworth revealed that his four-year-old daughter, India, is a beautician in training and loves nothing better than painting her dad and her uncle Liam Hemsworth's nails.

"We just paint each other's nails…Nah we didn't", he revealed on the Jimmy Fallon Show.

"My daughter and my neices paint everybody's nails, so I actually had mine painted too.

"That's what happens when you get a bunch of young girls together, they put lipstick on you and paint your nails".
