Charlize Theron’s Double-Braided Ponytail Will Be Your New Favorite Hairstyle

Charlize Theron turned heads at the New York City premiere of The Fate of the Furious. The actress and film producer's outfit gave off an edgy cool vibe with her sheer dress, over-the-knee boots, and superlong double-braided ponytail. It was hard to decide what we loved most about this look, as Theron is a total knockout. But it's pretty obvious that we as beauty lovers are obsessed with her braided pony. Stunning Braids author and hairstylist Monaè Everett broke down the tips and tricks to achieve Theron's double-braided ponytail, even with shorter hair. Step-by-step instructions

  1. Using a rat-tail comb, part hair into three sections and separate a small section at base of neck.

  2. Tease bottom section of hair with comb and clip in AB Hair extensions to add length. Continue to add extensions from bottom to top. Pro tip: Mix in different blond shades of extensions to create a highlighted effect.

  3. Part back of hair into two sections.

  4. Use an antifrizz cream such as Redken Outshine 01 Anti-Frizz Polishing Milk to smooth bottom section of hair.

  5. Blend extensions with natural hair using a boar bristle brush and gather into a low pony. Create a thick braid and secure with elastic.

  6. Smooth top section of hair with argan oil hair gel like Eco Styler Moroccan Argan Oil Styling Gel and brush hair into a high pony.

  7. Smooth top ponytail with antifrizz cream.

  8. Take a small section from high pony and make a small braid.

  9. Create a thick braid from remaining hair. Loosen braid to enhance volume and secure end with clear elastic.

  10. Wrap tiny braid around base of pony and secure with bobby pins.

  11. Take the top braid and wrap around base of bottom pony.
