Miranda Kerr opens the doors to her new $2 million Malibu mansion

Miranda Kerr has thrown open the doors of her lavish Malibu mansion and it's just as fabulous and glamorous as you would think.

The 33-year-old Australian model, who lives at the $2 million home with her adorable five-year-old son Flynn Bloom and just got engaged to Snapchat founder and billionaire Evan Spiegel, invited Harper's Bazaar to check out her new digs, stopping to pose by her pool and lounge on her piano.

"I knew that this house was it at first sight. It needed a lot of work, but it had a great view. It wasn't right on the water, so it was protected from the wind and very private," she said.

"I could just see the potential. It felt so right. In some ways it feels like a tree house. That was another thing that I loved. It's all open, and the view of the ocean makes it feel more spacious.'

Kerr bought the 1960s ranch home in 2014 when she had just split with Orlando Bloom and they were deciding how they should raise Flynn.

"Orlando and I were living in New York, and we loved it there," she said.

"But we were considering what the best options were for our son. Orlando owned a place in Malibu, and he was saying that he wanted to move here. We thought it would be a better lifestyle for Flynn.

"He could be outside playing year-round, playing in the sand. We could have a garden. I started looking for houses because we wanted to be close as a family."

The pair split and while they are still committing to raising their son together, Miranda decided to stay in the house she loved so much.

The house is full of fluffy cousins, layered fabrics and textures, white walls and gives off a very earthy, beach vibe.

There's a baby grand piano in the corner, which Miranda uses as a prop during her magazine shoot, draping herself over it like it's a comfortable lounge chair.

Miranda said she remembers visiting her granny's house when she was younger and there was a piano they would sing and dance around, so it was a priority for her to feature a baby piano and have a "great kitchen" in her own home.

Her house also has a sauna, a home gym, a meditation room, lounge chairs dotted around the pool and she grows her own kale in the back garden.

And best of all, Kerr has a switch in her bedroom which can turn off devices that emit electromagnetic radiation (as well as the lights and Wi-Fi).

We're pretty happy with out one-bedroom apartment where we can hear the person next door taking a shower at night, we swear.
