Hailey Baldwin claims she's "not trying to take anybody's spot" in the fashion world

The 90's supermodel war has just been revisited with model Hailey Baldwin weighing in on the drama.

Speaking in the November issue of Harper's Bazaar Australia, the 19-year-old, who has walked the runway for Moschino and Topshop and is the face of Australian brand The Daily Edited, said she's "not trying to take anybody's spot" in the fashion industry and wants to create a path for herself.

In April Rebecca Romijn claimed Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid “are not true supermodels” and just a few weeks later former 90's supermodel Stephanie Seymour said that she questions Kengi's status as supermodels and would prefer if they were called "b*****s of the moment".

But Hailey Baldwin claims they are not trying to step on anyone's toes and they hold the supermodels of the 90's in high regards.

"The older supermodels sometimes don't agree with the fact there is a new generation of models," Baldwin said.

"We're not saying we're supermodels. I'd rather people look at us as businesspeople, and, yes modelling is our business right now, but we're not trying to take anybody's spot and we're not trying to discredit the past."

Baldwin, who famously had a dalliance with pop sensation Justin Bieber, went on to claim that she's always asked told she'll never be like iconic supermodel Kate Moss, but she says she's a "completely different individual" and wants to carve her own career in the industry.

Baldwin is best friends with fellow models Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner, and while she says she appreciated their friendship, she also believes it's important to have peers outside the industry to keep you grounded.

"If you start to BS these friends, they call you out. They're ride-or-die for you, no matter what - they have your back," she said of her hometown friends.
