Melania Trump mocked for wearing 'storm stilettos' in disaster
President Trump and first lady Melania Trump were seen making their way to Texas on Tuesday morning to aid in Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. And although the first lady tried to pull together a utilitarian look for the occasion, her stilettos are throwing people off.

Melania was photographed heading from the White House to Marine One wearing an all-black ensemble of cropped tailored trousers and a simple black top, fittingly accompanied by an army-green bomber jacket. As someone on social media suggested, the outfit was very “Top Gun cosplay.”
But the accessories that she paired her look with have people seriously confused. Both her 5-inch snakeskin stilettos and her aviator sunglasses are causing people all over Twitter to wonder where in the world she thought she was headed.
Help is on the way, Texas! Don't worry, Melania has her special storm stilettos. https://t.co/lVsIneYbXF

Not sure what is more tone-deaf: Melania wearing stilettos to survey storm damage, or these selfish pricks being there in the first place.

It was very thoughtful of Melania trump to bring her water shoes. She's ready to wade in the Houston floods ! https://t.co/bBzUGCT5VX

However, as she exited Air Force One in Corpus Christi, Melania was wearing a more sensible outfit.
While she kept on the same tailored trousers and aviators she had traveled in, she changed into a white button-down shirt. She also pulled her hair back into a ponytail and added a black baseball hat with “FLOTUS” embroidered across the front in big white letters.
Most notably, FLOTUS slipped on some white Stan Smith adidas sneakers. And while the spotless kicks might get a little muddied up, the first lady’s communications director said that people should be focused on more important things: “It’s sad that we have an active and ongoing natural disaster in Texas, and people are worried about her shoes.”
