Meet Playboy’s first ever transgender Playmate

It’s the magazine known for pushing boundaries and Playboy has very publicly thrown its support behind the LGBTQ movement by announcing transgender model Ines Rau as their latest Playmate .

The smoking hot 26-year-old model features in the November issue of the magazine, revealing she knew from a young age that a “beautiful destiny” was waiting for her – but it took a long time to get to that point.

“I lived a long time without saying I was transgender,” she told Playboy. “I dated a lot and almost forgot. I was scared of never finding a boyfriend and being seen as weird.

“Then I was like, You know, you should just be who you are. It’s a salvation to speak the truth about yourself, whether it’s your gender, sexuality, whatever.”

The Paris-born model first started dancing for DJs in Ibiza, before falling into the fashion world, with a book deal and movie roles soon to follow.

Describing as her role as a Playmate as being “the most beautiful compliment I’ve ever received” Ines admits she’s happy to embrace nudity.

“Nudity means a lot to me, since I went through a transition to get where I want to be,” she told Playboy.

The announcement has caused some controversy on the Playboy Facebook page, with some questioning why a transgender model should be featured in the magazine.

However others have applauded the move.

“Kudos to Playboy for featuring a transgender model!” wrote one.

“Face it. If they didn't say she was transgender, none of you would've cared. I almost wish they waited until after the issue was out and the guys were spanking it to tell everyone the truth,” added another commenter.
