Did Melania Trump’s white pantsuit have a hidden meaning?
Melania Trump dazzled in an ivory suit while attending the president’s State of the Union address this week.
The 47-year-old first lady wore a cream pantsuit by Christian Dior, a silk blouse by Dolce & Gabbana, and nude heels by Christian Louboutin.
While she looked elegant, many on social media noted with irony that the look mimicked the white pantsuit Hillary Clinton wore on Election Day.
The colour white was also adopted by the National Women’s Party to honour women who fought for the right to vote.

Others noted that Melania’s outfit looked like a tribute to Kesha’s poignant performance during Sunday night’s Grammy Awards, when the singer joined forces with female peers such as Cyndi Lauper and Camila Cabello - all clad in white - to deliver a powerful #MeToo message to her alleged abuser, producer Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald.

The first lady had already raised eyebrows that night for arriving at the Capitol separately from husband Donald Trump, instead choosing to catch a ride with her guests, who sat with her in the audience.
According to CNN, the move was “a break with long-standing tradition,” but White House press secretary Sarah Sanders explained that the first couple travelled apart for “no reason other than she can greet the guests and he can go straight in.”
