Queen front row with fashion royalty

It’s the fashion celebration known for pushing style boundaries and showcasing edgy talent, and Queen Elizabeth II has made headlines after a surprise appearance at London Fashion Week.

Known for her love of twin sets and pearls, the Monarch was all smiles as she sat next to fashion’s version of royalty – Anna Wintour – on the front row at a Richard Quinn show.

While it might be her daughter-in-law Kate Middleton who regularly comes under the spotlight for her fashion choices, the Queen didn't shy away from rocking the FROW in an Angela Kelly duck egg blue tweed dress, with Swarovski crystals embellished jacket.

And making sure she was comfortable for the show, reports say the Queen – who looked like she was absolutely loving the spectacle – had her own personal cushion to sit on.

It’s the first time the Queen has attended London Fashion Week, making an appearance to present the inaugural Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design.

With Richard Quinn the first recipient of the award, it makes sense the royal was on hand at his show to see his designs.

She's known for her love of headscarves, but we're guessing this look might be too much for the Queen. Photo: Getty

We wonder what Her Majesty thought of the out-there looks?
