Sudden Rainfall Sparks Spontaneous Avalanche

Somewhere in Val d'Anniviers valley in the Swiss Alps, a burst of sudden rainfall gave way to falling snow. At an altitude of around 5,500-feet, Philip Chidell watches this magnificent avalanche unfold from hundreds of feet away. If you look closely, you can see tiny hikers along the trail down below. This incident really puts it into a perspective of just how massive the snowfall truly is.
