Can you spot the snake lurking in this family's fridge?

This snake rescuer was lucky he didn’t get frostbite after finding a python wedged between a fridge and freezer.

When Max Jackson, from Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers, was called to a house in Caloundra on February 14 he was probably hoping to be able to grab a cold beer.

Instead, upon opening the top fridge door, Max found a relatively small snake coiled up on the seal of the freezer door.

Gently, the experienced rescuer lifted the baby coastal carpet python, a non-venomous species, from the appliance and to safety.

“I’ve had to get a number of snakes from under fridges, but never from inside one before,” Max said.

“I’m sure it was a bit of a shock for the homeowner, but this was just another day at the office.

“It was my eighth rescue of the day.

“I don’t believe the snake was stuck, just that it had voluntarily moved in the night before and stayed.

“It was sat on the seal, so the internal temperature probably didn’t affect it at all.”
