Teen writes sister touching letter after finding out they're half-siblings

An 18-year-old woman shared a touching letter her brother wrote to her after he found out that they weren’t full siblings — and the love that these two share has left Twitter overwhelmed with emotion.

Pamela found out that she wasn’t fully related to her little brother and older sister when she was nine years old.

Even at that young age, she decided to keep it a secret because she was afraid it would affect how her family saw her.

“I was scared I was going to be looked at [differently] from my siblings,” Pamela told Yahoo Lifestyle.

Her older sister found out in what Pamela describes as an “unpleasant way,” but she agreed to keep it quiet.

My brother ended up finding out sooner than expected from my sister through an argument. He knew I wasn’t ready to talk about it, so he wrote it in a note instead. I got home and found the snacks along with the letter,” she said.

Pamela shared the letter from her brother, Jared Escamilla, with Twitter, including a snapshot of some of the snacks (her favourites) that he got for her.

“I just wanted to let you know how much I love you. I don’t care what people say you are always going to be my full-blooded sister, you are the best thing that happened to me,” the letter read.

“I love you with all my heart, thank you for helping me on my worst and thank you for leading me the right way.

“I will always be there for you, just like you have always been there for me. I love you, with love your annoying brother.”

Pamela said that the letter “opened [her] eyes,” and now the two siblings are closer than ever.

The young woman said she wanted to share the letter with social media because she feels many people could relate to their story, and she hopes it will inspire others who are afraid to open up about their truths.

Many on social media were touched by her brother’s loving gesture — and many could relate to the love the siblings share.

“Blood does not define family,” added. “I have never, nor will I, see him any different.”
