Teen’s adorable prom surprise for dad melts the internet's heart

It’s one of those milestone moments every parent looks forward to, so when Vanessa Macedo’s dad had to miss out on seeing her glammed up for her high school prom, she decided to take matters into her own hands.

With Vanessa’s dad Joaquin busy working at his fruit truck, the 18-year-old made a quick pit stop on her way to the event, and took him completely by surprise.

The California teen already knew her dad was feeling upset about missing out on the big night.

“My sister and I had planned just a couple hours beforehand to surprise him, because she noticed that he was asking a lot about me,” Vanessa told Buzzfeed.

Enlisting her prom date boyfriend to act as camera man, Vanessa filmed herself showing up at her dad’s work, before posting it on Twitter and melting the internet’s heart.

The clip has since been watched over 2.3 million times, with the world gushing over how adorable Vanessa’s dad is – and how incredible their relationship must be.

Just in case the sight of Joaquin’s beaming smile in the clip – which you can watch above – didn’t give it away, Vanessa admits the surprise was a complete success.

“My dad was not expecting me to take time out of my day to surprise him so he was really happy to see me all dressed up,” she told the Independent.
