For those kids of the 80s out there, it’s worth a trip back to your parents' house to see if they’ve kept your old figurines, with Sylvanian Families sets in particular highly sought after on the internet.

The adorable figurines were made by Japanese company Epoch in 1985, and while you can buy the sets brand new, it’s the old ones that really fetch the cash.

A quick trawl on eBay reveals some sets are going for hundreds of dollars.

Sadly, for those of us out there that eagerly ripped into the packaging and perhaps lavished your little plastic buddies with a little too much love, obviously the better condition they’re in, the more they’re worth.

But some collectors are really cashing in, with one Sylvanian Families Log Cabin coming with a whopping asking price of $1215.
