A mugshot of a Californian man has gone viral after local police posted it on social media.

When the social media guru at Stockton Police Department posted Jeremy Meeks' mugshot to its official Facebook page, they probably didn't expect the response they got.

At the time of writing, the photo has had over 27,000 likes, over 2000 shares, and 7000+ comments, thanks to the offender's "mesmerising eyes" and chiselled jaw.

According to the photo's caption, Meeks is a 30-year-old convicted felon, and was arrested for felony weapon charges.

He was one of four arrests made during "a multi-agency Operation Ceasefire enforcement mission" in the Weston Ranch area, executed "due to a recent increase of shootings and robberies".

Much was made of Meeks' good looks in the comments. "Wow dude you have potential to do something positive like model especially with his height and facial structure," enthused Carl Smith, a sentiment echoed by Antoinette Ohai. "This fool is busy shooting and robbing ppl when he shoulda been modelling."

Others made light of his alleged crime. "The gun was probably to keep the women off him. He can use my address for his parole," wrote one admirer.

The general consensus among Facebook commenters is that while the neck tattoos can stay, the tear drop tat by his eye has to go.
