Thomas Markle 'furious' with Sharon Osbourne after she tells him to 'get clean and sober'

Thomas Markle has become caught up in his first celebrity feud.

The father of the Duchess of Sussex is reportedly “utterly furious” with Sharon Osbourne after she made comments about the state of his sobriety on US talk show The Talk.

“It’s obvious that you have a bad drinking problem,” Sharon said in a segment addressing Thomas Sr. “And it’s obvious that over the last few years, you haven’t been close with your daughter.

“So all of this ‘we were, we used to be.’ It’s like, nah.”

The 65-year-old encouraged Thomas to get “clean and sober and then come back”.

The former X Factor judge then went onto suggest Meghan Markle feels “so humiliated [and] so embarrassed” by her father’s actions.

“She is so dignified you should try to give a little bit of that dignity for her,” Sharon continued

But friends of Meghan’s father have reportedly hit out at the TV personality’s claims.

“He’s shocked about these claims,” an insider allegedly told The Sun. “It’s totally untrue and he’s been through enough with his recent health issues without people making these sorts of allegations.”

The friend claimed the 74-year-old was “livid” about the claims.

“Sharon Osbourne doesn’t know him at all,” the friend added. “How dare she say these things.”

It was also insisted by the source that Thomas doesn’t drink heavily and only has the odd glass of wine here and there with a meal.

Sharon’s comments come after shock claims recently emerged that Thomas actually faked his heart attack in May.

“The whole story about Meghan’s father undergoing heart surgery was made up,’ the source told the Daily Mail.

According to reports at the time, Thomas was admitted to the Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center, however when contacted by the Daily Mail to hospital said “no such name” had ever checked in.

Apparently he wanted to take the attention off the staged paparazzi photos, which had caused much embarrassment for Meghan.

“He had to come up with a good enough reason not to attend her wedding and avoid any further embarrassment after those staged photos went public,” the source continued.

“Don’t feel sorry for him. If anything, feel sorry for Meghan.”
