Tim Robards stacks it on Ninja Warrior

After appearing on the show in 2017, Tim Robards returned to the Ninja Warrior obstacle course last night.

But it didn’t seem to be a case of second time lucky for Australia’s first Bachelor, as he sustained an injury quite early on in the challenge.

As the 35-year-old tried to bolt through the ‘Bridge of Blades’ part of the course, he unfortunately stacked it at the end when he landed on the black mats.

What’s more, he showed signs of an injury, potentially a pulled hamstring, as he clutched at his leg after the mishap.

“Ooh hang on, he’s just started touching the back of the knee,” commentator Ben Fordham said.

“And it looks like to me, it’s a hamstring. He’s just had a look over at fiancee Anna, looking a little worried,” co-host Rebecca Maddern added.

“That is not a great thing to do when you’re just about to jump onto the swing to cargo net.”

Tim made it through the swing to cargo net stage, but unfortunately the next challenge, which mainly involved upper body strength, is where he ended up letting go and plunging into the water.

This week Tim opened up about his decision to give the show another crack.

So last year, I went out a lot earlier — I had a lot more ability than that,” he told The Fix.

“It’s hard — the course doesn’t always test you to the end of your ability, it’s really just, ‘Can you bring it first go, first try, on the day? With all of the elements’,” he also said.

“It’s a real mind game on the day.”

Tim, who stands by his successful fitness program called The Robards Method, is one of a few famous faces on the show this year, including Lisa Curry’s son Jett Kenny and reformed party boy, Corey Worthington.
