Tommy Little slammed over ‘disgraceful’ Project segment
The Project’s Tommy Little has been slammed over his “disgraceful” comments towards a mining CEO that he made on the show last night.
Viewers were left horrified when the 33-year-old appeared to mock Geoff Summers over his voice, suggesting it wasn’t masculine enough for someone in such a “tough” job.
The awkward segment began when the comedian asked those at home to look at Geoff and make an assessment on his appearance.
“Here’s a picture, he’s tough, I reckon he looks rich, he looks mean and he’s a miner, that’s the information we know about,” he said.
“So see if this is how you were expecting him to sound,” he continued, before playing footage of him giving a talk in Tasmania.
Guest pannellist Rove McManus quipped in on the joke, saying he’s “a man’s man, talking about the mines,” in a mock deep voice.
After the clip aired amid Tommy continued with his gaffe, teasing that Geoff sounded “like the first mining minor”.
While former radio host Rove asked if they were “mining for helium?”
Naturally, fans are enraged and have taken to social media to call out the show for their “double standards” and slamming them as “bullies”.
@theprojecttv so often on their high horse & ever critical of others. Appalling double standards when theres a laugh in it for them. #Shameful #channel10 #TheProjectTV

The only way people will learn is to switch channels. Don't preach not to bully & then do it. Ratings dive, and maybe you'll learn bullying hurts and the fact you've done it for the world to see, shame on Channel 10. Don't pair Tommy and Rove again on same panel. #TheProjectTV
