The touching way Prince Harry paid tribute to Diana

He’s the royal that’s going from strength to strength when it comes to his public persona, and Prince Harry has once again proved just how much similar he is to his beloved mum Princess Diana with his latest charity crusade.

With the late princess famed for her dedication to trying to destigmatise HIV/AIDS, Prince Harry is now carrying on his mum’s legacy by announcing the launch of MenStar Coalition project.

“We stand here at a moment when the progress we have fought so hard for is at risk from a dangerous complacency,” Prince Harry said during the launch.

“Too many around the world are still ignoring the damaging knock-on effect on education and other community services from not prioritising HIV prevention and treatment.”

With People reporting that the initiative is aimed at “protecting and educating ‘hard-to-reach’ men, Prince Harry faced media at the launch alongside one of his mum’s close friends, Elton John.

Elton was said to have performed at Prince Harry’s May wedding to Meghan Markle, with the singer seen embracing the 33-year-old prince at the launch in Netherlands.

It’s a move that no doubt Harry’s mum Diana would have loved to see, given her support behind the cause.

Princess Diana made headlines around the world when she helped open the UK’s first purpose built HIV/Aids unit in London in 1987.

The princess was seen shaking a sufferers hand without gloves, to help quash the idea that the virus was spread through touch.
