Tracy Grimshaw: I owe Karl and Georgie
As she walked the red carpet at the 2018 TV Week Logie Awards on Sunday night, Tracy Grimshaw had some special people to thank.
The 58-year-old A Current Affair host admitted she was ‘absolutely baffled’ by her Gold Logie nomination, and believes she received a nod for the coveted gong thanks to the support of Channel Nine colleagues like Karl Stefanovic and Georgie Gardiner.
“I feel like I’ve been parachuted into this spot,” Tracy told Be from Australian TV’s big night held at The Star on the Gold Coast.

“I feel like I haven’t been doing anything differently than I’ve been doing for many many years. I think it’s maybe because my colleagues decided… well it started with the Today show, they just [decided] unilaterally they were going to lobby for me and it took off from there,” she continued.
The television presenter has been with the network for almost four decades, and it’s one thing to share the stories she’s proud of on screen, but another to then have immense support from those she works with.
“It’s really just, when you’re 37 years in the one place and all of a sudden all your colleagues are saying go you we love you we want it to be you, that’s kind of almost reward enough, it’s lovely,” she said.
Tracey has some stiff competition in the running for the Gold Logie, going up against Jessica Marais, Amanda Keller, Grant Denyer, Rodger Corser and Andrew Winter.
