Tracy Grimshaw walks Logies red carpet for first time in nearly a decade

Tracy Grimshaw has graced the Logies red carpet for the first time in nearly a decade.

Last week the Gold Logie nominee admitted she boycotted the red carpet for the last nine years after she appeared on a worst dressed list in 2009.

“I was nominated as the worst dressed at the Logies that year and I felt really sorry for her [the stylist] because she’s made me this dress and I liked it,” Tracy told Kyle and Jackie O. “I felt so bad for her.

“I’m not a fashionista, I don’t put myself out there as a fashionista, I don’t pretend to be the best dressed anywhere and I just decided if this is what the red carpet is, I’m not doing it anymore.”

However, for the award show’s 60th anniversary this year, Tracy has lifted that boycott.

The A Current Affair presenter walked the red carpet in a stunning red gown as she prepared to go up against Amanda Keller, Grant Denyer, Jessica Marais, Rodger Corser and Andrew Winter for the coveted Gold Logie.

Chatting to 9Now‘s Shelly Horton, the 58-year-old admitted this year’s awards were “different”.

“Because it feels like there’s a lot at stake,” she said.

Perhaps it’s because she’s nominated for the Gold Logie for the first time?

Discussing age in the entertainment industry, Tracy admitted she was happy to representing women over 50.

“If you look at the field for the Gold Logie nominees this year, one third of us are over women over 50,” she said, referring to herself and Living Room host Amanda Keller.

“We’ve all been hearing for years that television is such an unfriendly place for women and unfriendly for older women,” she said. “No, it’s not. It’s feeling really friendly tonight.”

You go, Tracy. We’re sure many people are rooting for you to win the Gold Logie.
