Yahoo Lifestyle Destinations most shared in social media
Bragging about holidays and visits to famous attractions is one of the most popular pastimes on social media. But what destinations are the most-shared on Facebook?
Social travel website Gogobot has analysed close to 10 million travel stories and photos uploaded to its users’ Facebook feeds to find out what were the most popular spots of 2012.
Paris, the City of Love, can claim the number one destination and its most iconic landmark, the Eiffel Tower, was the most-shared attraction.
Vegas, San Francisco, Barcelona and San Diego were the next most mentioned cities, while Rome’s Colosseum and New York’s Central Park took second and third place respectively.
Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay, at fourth place, is the newest attraction to make the top 10.
