Available to a maximum of 10 aspiring photographers, participants will enjoy a professionally led photographic exploration of Australia's unique Top End and its spectacular wildlife, combined with the warm hospitality of Bamarru Plains.
A world-renowned photographer and author of the best-selling Lonely Planet's Guide to Travel Photography, I'Anson chose Bamurru Plains as the location due to its abundance of wildlife, dramatic wilderness landscapes, the endless photo opportunities it presents and the fact that the property's 300 km² area is exclusive to camp guests only.
The five day Top End Wilderness Photo Safari itinerary includes morning and afternoon photography sessions with I'Anson, plus private, guided trips amongst the floodplains and savannah woodlands of Bamurru Plains, and to Arnhem Land, the greatest stronghold of Aboriginal culture in Australia.
The Top End Wilderness Photo Safari with Richard I'Anson costs $4,799 per person, twin share, with a single supplement of $995.The itinerary includes four nights in a fan-cooled safari bungalow, all meals and select beverages, plus a four-day focussed photography program with Richard I'Anson. Return flights from Darwin to Bamurru Plains, plus a transfer from the General Aviation Terminal to Darwin Airport are also included.
Just 20 minutes by light aircraft, or a three hour drive from Darwin, Bamurru Plains is a unique wilderness camp situated on a working buffalo station, which hosts an abundance of bird species and wildlife.
