Study claims travel habits can make or break a relationship

Travelling together as a couple can be one of the most important and rewarding experiences of your life and one you're both likely to remember forever.

However a new study has revealed that your partner's habits while planning that getaway can either make or break a relationship, meaning that the holiday you've dreamed about for months could turn into a disaster.

A new report by Liligo.com, a flight and hotel comparison site, found that nearly half of people in the US said bad travel habits were a deal breaker in a relationship.

It was especially true amongst millennials, with 35 per cent saying travel attitudes would make them think twice about whether the relationship was going to last the distance.

One in 12 people have had rows with their partners over having bad ideas of where they should go on holidays and 22 per cent said travelling was more important to them than buying a home.

” People now see travel differently than in the past; it has changed into something society associates with accomplishment. That, in turn, creates its own anxiety as to how to create the perfect holiday, US Marketing Director for Liligo.com, Eric Urbain, told lonelyplanet.com.

According to Urbain, social media has played a massive part in people's mind shifting towards travelling the globe, with such sites as Instagram and Pinterest showing people exactly what they're missing out on.

The study found that people are now less interested in settling down, getting a job and buying a house and more fixated on spreading their wings and travelling the world.
