Travel + Leisure magazine has released the results of their top 10 islands in the world poll, and the winner has us looking up flights right now.

The chosen island was picked out after scouring traveller reviews and recommendations of the islands – and it doesn’t disappoint.

According to the research, Palawan in the Philippines is the most beautiful island destination in the world.

Famous for its white beaches, crystal clear water and unbelievable scenery, Palawan is the largest of the island in the Philippines.

Travellers to the island can tap into their adventurous side with snorkeling, kayaking, diving and paddleboarding.

The island came out on top in an incredible list of islands.

Bali was voted number 10 on the list, followed by Hvar and the Dalmatian Islands in Croatia, Ischia in Italy and Kauai in Hawaii.

Hawaii had two island in the top 10, with Maui coming in at number six, followed by Santorini in Greece at number five and the Galápagos Islands in Ecuador at number four.

Rounding up the top three was Boracay Island in the Philippines and at number two was Hilton Head, South Carolina.
