The worst plane passenger of 2017 has been found

Passengers aboard a Russian commercial flight were stunned by the behaviour of a drunk woman who attacked a flight attendant, leaving her with "severe injuries".

Footage taken by a fellow passenger shows the woman unable to stand, possibly thanks to the effects of too many in-flight vodkas.

She can be seen screaming as she is physically dragged away from the plane by a security guard and another passenger – reportedly an off-duty policeman.

Russian website 5-TV reported passengers came to the flight attendant's aid after she was attacked by the woman on a flight out of Moscow.

Police confirmed the flight attendant was taken to hospital following the incident.
