Top Aussie Nude Beaches
For those of you that want to shed your threads, along with all your inhibitions, here are the top spots to do it!
Australia’s first nude beach, Maslin Beach in South Australia has provided a haven for nude beach goers since 1975. The state’s Premier at the time, Don Dunstan was fully supportive of Aussies who wanted to beach it in the buff, claiming that “Unless people were hurting others in the community they should be able to be individuals and do their own thing”. Today the beach’s smooth sands and wide sheltered waters are the best place in SA for a nude beach day.

Revered as one of Australia’s oldest nude beaches, Sydney’s famous Lady Bay is where you can shed your clothes without having to travel too far from the city. Long before it was made legal in 1976, the beautiful beach offered the ideal spot for city-dwelling naturists, so if you are a Sydney-sider head to its shores and soak up the sun.

North Cape Tribulation
Tropical North QLD
• Even though Queensland has no ‘officail’ nude beaches, there are definitely a couple unofficial ones that are remote enough that you can strip off without anyone noticing. North Cape Tribulation, where the rainforest meets the sea, is one such spot. It is so remote that it is likely you will have the entire beach to yourself in the early morning or at dusk, so strut without reserve!

Cairns’ renowned ‘unofficail’ nude beach is tucked away from straying eyes against a headland at the end of Ellis Beach. Despite Queensland regulation the beach has long been known to locals as the area’s designated spot to go au natural, just be cautious about straying too far toward the camp ground at Ellis Beach, otherwise you might encounter some fully-clad tourists.
