TV host blasts Samantha Markle for being a ‘media vulture’
Her chronic oversharing of life with her famous sister is intensifying as the hours tick down to Meghan Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry, but not everyone is a fan of Samantha Markle airing all the family’s dirty laundry.
Fresh from an interview with Sunrise where she revealed how Buckingham Palace had tried – and failed – to stop her from speaking publicly, Samantha appeared on UK chat show Good Morning Britain.
The 53-year-old spoke out about the stress put on her and Meghan’s dad Thomas Markle, who is said to be undergoing heart surgery following a heart attack that forced him to pull out of attending the royal wedding.
Describing the unwanted attention as “atrocious and intrusive”, Samantha slammed the media as being “vultures” – something outspoken Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan took particular offence to.
“There’s no bigger media vulture with this wedding than you, is there Ms Markle?” he blasted.
“How you have the gall to come on here and talk about media vultures. You’re doing a book called The Diary Of Princess Pushy’s Sister… You’ve been trashing her for two years, you little vulture.”
Samantha and Meghan have been estranged for years, with the author first speaking publicly soon after it was announced the actress and Prince Harry were seeing each other in 2016.
Labelling Meghan as a ‘social climber’ and claiming her charitable habits didn’t extend to those closest to her, Samantha has long been accused of trying to cash in on Meghan’s fame.
Despite denying any attempts of money grabbing, Samantha does admit the pair haven’t spoken since 2014.
“I was in school full time and she was travelling for Suits so I called her in Canada,” she revealed on Sunrise.
“We spoke about my father a little bit, I asked her how she was doing.
“I wished her well as any older sister would, I wanted her to feel supported, spread her wings and fly without worrying about challenges that I was having.”
