TV host fired for wearing inappropriate dress

A female game show host has been fired after viewers complained that her outfit was too ‘inappropriate’.

Amal Al Awadhi was in the middle of a live broadcast in the Middle Eastern country of Kuwait when controllers of the government-owned channel ordered the show to stop immediately.

The reason was that a number of viewers had taken to Twitter to complain that the 29-year-old host’s dress was too revealing and inappropriate.

Al Awadhi later took to Snapchat and said how ‘shocked’ she was at the outburst, mentioning she tried to take extra caution in her outfit considering it was the holy month of Ramadan.

“I heard someone saying, “Take Amal Al Awadhi off air now, or I’ll shut down the channel,” she posted according to Stepfeed.

“Because my show was airing during Ramadan, I was extra cautious about not going against any of our traditions, I took care of what I wore and how I spoke,” she added.

The outfit in question was a white knee-length lace dress with ruffled sleeves, and it’s caused quite the stir online.

Some locals agreed with the decision saying, “She deserves to be suspended, her clothes aren’t fit for such a program. TV presenters must be modest during Ramadan.”

While others were furious saying, “What age are we living in? Shame on the person who called to report her,” along with comments suggesting, “There’s absolutely nothing wrong with what she’s wearing.”
