Twitter is convinced White House sinkhole is Melania's escape tunnel
It was the movement that saw #FreeMelania go viral after Donald Trump became President, with the world urging his seemingly unenthusiastic wife Melania to make a break for it.
Now Twitter is having an absolute field day after a sinkhole mysteriously opened up on the White House lawn, sparking tongue-in-cheek speculation it’s proof the first lady is finally making her escape.
The White House says it is a 'sink hole' on the West lawn. The rest of us are pretty sure that Melania’s escape tunnel caved in. pic.twitter.com/jPJmucW2jB

A sinkhole has appeared on the White House's North Lawn — which has naturally spawned jokes on the Internet https://t.co/js0O65jxem pic.twitter.com/H4wzCJLzxE

Earlier this week, the sinkhole appeared on the North Lawn of 1600, Pennsylvania Avenue, just outside the entrance to the press briefing room.
Naturally, the internet was quick to joke it wasn’t a sinkhole at all, but a cover up for a failed tunnelling attempt.
It’s not the first time a sinkhole has opened up near the Trumps.
Last May, a sizeable pit appeared near Mar-a-Lago, Donald Trump’s lavish Palm Beach estate where the couple frequently go to relax.
Twitter users have hilariously used it as fuel to add to the Melania escape tunnel fire.
You have to dig better, Melania. You screwed up two years ago, too. https://t.co/sDMXgLnWjL
