The USA are getting their very own royal family
It was the fairytale romance that saw one of their own became part of the British royal family when US-born Meghan Markle tied the knot with Prince Harry in May.
Americans now have another royal to fall in love with, following news Princess Madeleine of Sweden has decided to uproot her gorgeous family and relocate to the sunny climes of Florida.
Princess Madeleine and her family have a holiday home in Florida, and are known for leading a jet-set life, having resided in New York and London in previous years.
The family returned to Sweden before Madeleine, who is the second daughter and youngest child of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, gave birth to the couple’s third child, Princess Adrienne four months ago.
With the couple’s other two children Princess Leonore, four, and Prince Nicolas, three, approaching school age, it’s believed the Swedish royals decided now was the perfect time to make the move.
“The time and opportunity for the United States is good for the family when the children are still in pre-school age,” a statement from the Swedish royal palace read.
“The Princess Madeleine has a great commitment to children’s rights and will continue working with the World Childhood Foundation and, through the move, be able to focus more on the activities in the United States.
“Mr. Christopher O’Neill has previously been working in the United States but will continue his business in Europe.”
Madeleine’s husband is a British-American, whose mum reportedly lives in Palm Beach, Florida. It’s led to speculation the family might be moving to be closer to her.
