V-kini is the new swimwear trend celebs are obsessed with

Whether it’s Rita Ora or Kendall Jenner, celebs have been showing off a new bikini trend online. And it’s one to help those with less curves.

The new trend is known as the v-kini [v-shaped bikini] and has been spotted all across social media, curtesy of the sizzling summer in the northern hemisphere right now.

The idea behind the look is that it gives those girls that might have less curves the appearance of having an hourglass figure.

It’s achieved by pulling the band of your bikini bottoms up above your hips – reminiscent of the old-school high-waisted bikinis – so they form a v-shape.

This works best on stringy bikinis, and is said to help slim your tummy and boost your buttocks.

“Swimwear styles that provide less coverage will create the look of longer limbs by extending the legs and torso,” stylist Hayley Forester told Fabulous Online.

Celebs including Kendall Jenner, Rita Ora and Emily Ratajkowski are already fans of the trend.

Rita recently sizzled in a yellow number, posing on a yacht.

While Em Rata sent fans into a spin with a navy polkadot look of her own.

Of course every summer we see new trends emerging, and this isn’t even the only one of the season so far.

Just last week the upside down bikini top was a slightly strange trend that started doing the rounds online.

Said to be the brainchild of Italian model Valentina Fradegrada, you don’t actually need to splash out on new togs to get the look.

All you need is a halterneck bikini, which gets tied at the top to sit over your chest and making it look like the bikini is upside down… hence the name.

It’s a trend that’s slowly been gathering steam, with Aussie label Cantik Swimwear already getting in on the action.

No doubt we’ll be seeing many of these looks on Aussie beaches when summer returns.
