The Project is used to international celebs joining them on their panel, but that doesn’t exempt them from awkward encounters.

For Waleed Aly, comedian and Whose Line Is It Anyway star Wayne Brady, was his achilles heel.

During an appearance on the Network Ten show, the Gold Logie winner managed to offend the Wayne by saying that improv doesn’t require any “preparation”.

“Is it really nice knowing you can rock up on a world tour without doing any preparation?” Waleed asked.

A wide-eyed and clearly offended Wayne jokingly responded (but not really): “How dare you,”

You don’t know what I’ve done to prepare for that,” he said. Ouch.

Waleed, not one to let anything go, said: “Well, what have you done?”

“Life… Life prepares you to do improv,” Wayne said. “I think that’s the crux of it, people look at you and think ‘Oh, that’s so easy, I can get up and do that’… well you can’t!”

The comedian, who rose to fame on Drew Carey’s show Whose Line Is It Anyway, uses people he meets to provide inspiration for his show, however, everything is unscripted.

“I don’t have the stress of practicing a script before the show but I have the stress of having to fill 90 minutes with humour.”

The 46-year-old is in Australia for his Brady AF 2018 world tour.
