New Year's Eve has arrived and here is a roundup of some of the best spots you can catch the fireworks as you ring in 2018.
The Harbour Bridge display is always the highlight of Sydney's New Year's Eve fireworks.
This year it’s dedicated to celebrating marriage equality, following Australia's recent Yes vote and the 40th anniversary of Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras in 2018.
There are two sets of fireworks - one at 9pm which proves to be a family friendly option, as well as the main fireworks at midnight.
Dawes Point right by the Rocks is perfect for spreading out a picnic rug.
Located on the the Southern side of the harbour, just under the Sydney Harbour Bridge, this hot spot will be open from midday.
Alternatively Mrs Macquaries Point also provides fantastic views.
It’s open from 10am so you can get all set up, and there will be food on sale at the location.
If you head down to the Docklands area, there’s going to be live music entertainment, and get this, a DJ playing up till 1am so you can kick on with the party after the fireworks go off at midnight.
Another great place to see the displays over the Yarra River is at the Yarra Park.
This is always a popular vantage points for families.
But make sure you get there early to secure yourself a great spot.
Queensland's capital city will see two sets of 10-minute fireworks over the Brisbane River to ring in the new year.
A good spot is always down at South Bank from the Wheel of Brisbane, and if you’re feeling a bit adventurous, you can even hire a private gondola for the night, holding up to eight people.
The Jubilee Hotel is another good option for adults.
It’s only a kilometer out from the Brisbane CBD and while many other pubs will have a cover charge, this one is free and bound to be a cracker.
The main fireworks in Perth happen over the Swan River, so all the space down the foreshore will very popular for those wanting to see the fireworks.
If you’re in the mood for a solid night of partying, then the NYE on the foreshore event is a great event.
This is also on the banks of the Swan River, so you still get to enjoy front row seats to the fireworks, as well as exquisite cuisine, cocktails and live music throughout the night.
