Here's why Prince George always wears shorts

Whether the sun is splitting the stones or it’s raining from the heavens, you’re guaranteed to always find Prince George sporting his short shorts on holiday.

Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince George and Princess Charlotte touched down in Warsaw today as part of their five-day official royal trip to Poland and Germany.

And just like we all expected, the adorable three-year-old prince was pictured looking cute as a button in a pair of navy shorts as he got off the plane holding his dad’s hand.

Royal watchers will know that every single official event Prince George attends, he’s always dressed in a pair of shorts, shiny shoes and socks.

And now an etiquette expert has revealed there’s actually a bit of a snobby reason behind Kate’s decision to shun trousers and dress her little boy in shorts.

“Trousers are for older boys and men, whereas shorts on younger boys are one of the silent class markers that we have in England,” William Hanson told the Express.

“Although times are (slowly) changing, a pair of trousers on a young boy is considered quite middle class–quite suburban.

“And no self-respecting aristo or royal would want to be considered suburban. Even the Duchess of Cambridge.”

Prince George isn’t the first royal child to be spotted wearing shorts on every occasion, as his father Prince William and his brother, Prince Harry, also wore shorts at every opportunity.

Back in May, kids clothes designer Rachel Riley claimed Kate’s love of retro clothes for her kids might have something to do with Princess Diana.

“Princess Diana had a great sense of style. She was a nursery teacher so was a natural with children and knew how to dress them. She dressed William and Harry in clothes that are appropriate for children,” Rachel tells The Mail on Sunday.

“Diana dressed Prince William in a very traditional way, even more traditional than Kate does with Prince George. George always looks gorgeous, too. His clothing is very classic but suitable for today, that’s the look they are trying to achieve.”
