Why Matthew Perry won't do a Friends reunion

Despite every show under the sun getting a reboot, there's one much-loved series we shouldn't expect to see on our screens again anytime soon.

Although grateful for the opportunity to work on the show, Matthew Perry has shut down any suggestion he would appear in a reboot of Friends. Boo!

"I have this recurring nightmare – I’m not kidding about this. When I’m asleep, I have this nightmare that we do Friends again and nobody cares," he told Variety about the chances of revisiting his character Chandler Bing.

"We do a whole series, we come back, and nobody cares about it. So if anybody asks me, I’m gonna say ‘no.’ The thing is: We ended on such a high. We can’t beat it. Why would we go and do it again?"

The 47-year-old actor isn't the only star of the series who has shut down any prospect of a reunion, with Lisa Kudrow saying earlier this year that it's "not going to happen".

"I feel like I’m just constantly bursting that little bubble of hope, each and every time it’s asked. It’s been 13 years, 13 years of the same question and right now, or in the future, it’s not going to happen. And every time I say that, I get yelled at," Lisa, who played Phoebe Buffay, told Heat Magazine in April.

When asked whether a reunion was possible for the future Lisa added: "Yeah, probably not. What’s it going to be about? Really, how is it going to work? This is what everybody is forgetting."

Jennifer Aniston also isn't keen on the idea of becoming Rachel Green again, saying in December last year she doesn't think a reboot would work because of modern technology!

"Honestly, I don't know what we would do," the actress told ITV's Lorraine.

"I think that period of time was sort of nostalgic. I think why people have such an affection for it is because even though it was only 12 years ago it ended, or 13—God, it's getting farther and farther away—there was something about a time where our faces weren't stuffed into cell phones.

"We weren't checking Facebooks and Instagrams. We were in a room together, in a coffee shop together. We were talking, having conversations. We have lost that."

So it looks like it won't be our day, week, month or even our year to see the gang back together in NYC!
