Wills cracks dad joke as he welcomes new son

Royal baby excitement is reaching its peak on Twitter, and not only because the baby has arrived, but because Prince William is already at it with the dad jokes.

While loading his newborn son into a Range Rover outside of St Mary’s hospital in London, William turned to the admiring crowds, held up three fingers and joked, “Thrice the worry now!”

The dad of three went on to say he was ‘delighted’ and ‘very happy,’ about the birth of his son, and Twitter was quick to react to the humbling comments.

“Prince William is such a class act,” one person tweeted, “When asked how he felt today he said ‘I’m delighted’ and joked ‘Thrice the worry now.’ I think when my third daughter was born I just said, ‘Bugger.'”

“We didn’t keep you waiting too long this time,” Prince William also said.

His Royal Highness, who has just overtaken Prince Harry as fifth in line to the throne, was born weighing 3.8kg or 8lbs 7oz, at 11.01AM (London time), just five hours after mum Kate Middleton was first admitted to hospital.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte were two of the baby’s first visitors and were seen entering the hospital hand-in-hand with William who was present at the birth.

Hours later, wife Kate stepped out beaming in a bright red dress to publicly debut their brand new baby boy to the world.
