The moment a terrified woman — who had reportedly been held captive and beaten for two days by her armed and abusive boyfriend — made a quick thinking decision to save herself, has been captured on camera.
A Reddit user shared the short clip, that shows the victim handing a veterinary receptionist a note, alerting them to her horrifying ordeal.
Moments later, the unsuspecting partner was surrounded by five police officers who arrested and disarmed him, freeing the lady from her nightmare.
Jeremy Floyd, 39, has since been held on domestic violence charges and without bail after the incident, which happened on May 25, according to CBS.
The report stated the unnamed victim from Florida had been violently attacked by her partner two days earlier.
When he refused to let her leave their home, she convinced Floyd to let her take their dog to a veterinarian, although he wouldn’t let her go alone.
It was then she seized the opportunity to get help, alerting the receptionist with a note that read, “Call the cops. My boyfriend is threatening me. He has a gun. Please don’t let him know”.
The incredible footage has since gone viral, with many praising the receptionist and the police for their “swift” action.
“Wow, it’s amazing to see a video of it,” one user said. “Great job by the receptionists and police to take swift action.”
“A very good job!” another said. “Nobody hurt, suspect unaware and everyone remained calm and professional.”
Investigators from Florida Police said there were two bullet holes in the hallway of the home where the alleged violence took place, WKMG reported.
